Back to Scotland again...

I'll start this blog with a confession. I was supposed to come home form the Classic Malts Cruise and get on with the edit for the next show, but when the opportunity came for another week sailing to the Island of Tiree I took it like a shot.

We had a new crew and some more great experiences. I also got a lot more out of sailing on Spray Of Wight as I was a lot more familiar with some of her foibles. You'll be able to see some of this second trip as we shot a pilotage item to be shown later in the year when the dark evenings have set in and we can look back at the Summer days in Scotland that are light until 11 pm.

Tracey and I had a late night on Thursday when I popped over to soak up the atmosphere at Cowes week. As you're no doubt aware, we do not cover racing in any detail, however, the spectacle of over 1000 boats racing each day was wonderful although we had to wait until the afternoon's sea breeze came in before any racing could start. What also impressed me was the number of tourists who were enjoying themselves watching the boats without any firm understanding of exactly what was going on (perhaps there were a few competitors in that bracket too).

Thursday was Ladies Day so I had to be nice to Tracey ALL DAY! In the evening Tracey hosted the presentation of the "G.H. Mumm 'Spirit of the Cordon Rouge' challenge Trophy"and it was a great evening with some of the UK's most famous sailors in attendance. keep an eye out and you can see the winner on the next show.

I waqs going to put a picture in here to start looking as good as Tarcey's Blog, but then you'd see who won the trophy!!!
